aMAZEzine!

aMAZEzine! is a Montréal-based bilingual fanzine cofounded by Marc-Lucas Ablasou and Marie-Douce St-Jacques, who met through programming student radio at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal (Montreal, Canada). The first three issues were dedicated to indie / experimental rock (Marie-Douce) and emo / post-hardcore (Marc-Lucas). The zines contained interviews, articles, reviews and art from local artists Éric Thériault (Swiz), Billy Mavreas, Carlos Santos (d. bilos), Fidèle Castrée (Geneviève Castrée), Félix Morel and many more.

After issue #3 was released, Marc-Lucas left the publication, and Claude Bernier joined Marie-Douce for the final two issues. At this time, aMAZEzine!’s focus shifted to post-rock, experimental and avant-garde music. These last two issues were more expansive, including interdisciplinary subjects such as art, design and literature. They both contain limited split 7″ records.
